John McGary is a principal in the Tax Advisory Services Group of Margolis & Company.  He has over thirty years of experience in a number of specialized areas including real estate, international taxes, corporate taxes and transaction structuring. John has earned an outstanding reputation assisting clients with the structuring of complex transactions on the acquisition or disposition of real estate. While he has some publicly-held clients, most of his clients consist of middle-market, closely-held businesses and include companies with operations that are located throughout the United States and internationally.

John began his career as a field agent with the Internal Revenue Service. He has served as the head of the International Tax Practice of a large CPA firm in Philadelphia and also with a specialty tax boutique firm in the area. Prior to joining Margolis & Company, John was a principal of a regional CPA firm for twenty years.

A graduate of Bradley University in 1971, John is a member of both the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA & PICPA). John can be reached at jmcgary@marg.com.
